Local drug dealers have been finding new ways to advertise to university students in Leeds.

Leeds dealers are targeting local students direct, with business cards, lighters and cigarette papers with contact details.
A first year student, Abbi, said, ‘walking from a freshers event a car pulled up next to us, a lad in his late teens got out of the car and offered us business cards saying “weed, coke, ket and MD.”’
‘There were people going door to door, nice polite people, handing out bags that contained grinders and papers and other paraphernalia,’ say Kieran Owen, a first year journalism student.
‘(A) girl we met the other day was super chilled and nice but some of them are like super sketch and they take you in the car for a ride then just drop you out after the deal,’ said a first year student who preferred to remain anonymous.
‘I’ve had two [business cards] pushed through the door and one handed to me as I walked in the entrance. And I find it bizarre because I’ve never heard of this before. I think it makes drugs really accessible to people and this can be dangerous,’ said Lois, a student new to the area.
‘There is definitely a culture to use drugs much more so than in college for example. Many people I have met often use drugs.’
